Before surgery
Open the patient record and start the surgery workflow. VetOS will walk you through required pre-op steps: confirm the consent form is signed, verify pre-anesthesia bloodwork is on file, and check that the right staff are assigned.
You cannot skip these steps — VetOS will not let you proceed until each one is confirmed. This protects the patient and your practice.
Checklist

- • Anesthesia plan confirmed
- • Surgical team assigned
During and after surgery
Record the procedure details, anesthesia notes, and any complications. After surgery, add recovery observations and discharge instructions. Everything goes into the patient timeline as a permanent record.
If you need to pull up this information later — for a follow-up visit, an insurance question, or a legal matter — it will all be exactly where you left it.
